Mr. Shuvo is the Founder, President & Chief Executive Officer of Shahrish Shuvo Engineering P.C. (SSE). He established the firm in 2015. Shahrish holds a master's degree in Civil Engineering from City College of New York and is a licensed professional engineer in New York, Connecticut, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. He has extensive experience in planning, design, construction inspection and project management which includes preparation and review of project specifications, drawings and report writing.
Shahrish is responsible for pursuing the company mission, vision and strategy as well as maintaining the financial success of the business. He provides the corporate leadership and foresight for strategic growth of the firm. Shahrish believes in the value of his team, he recognizes the importance of surrounding himself with a staff that is knowledgeable, passionate, and driven. Mr. Tobia has been in the engineering/geomatics industry for more than 45 years. Before joining SSE, Ray worked for Topo-Metrics, Inc. as a production manager working with field survey, aerial mapping, photo Lab and CADD departments. Later he joined Vollmer Associates, LLC where he was a senior associate and opened a long island office for the firm completing all survey and aerial mapping for the firm in the northeast. When Stantec acquired Vollmer, he was made a principal and became the managing Leader for the Tri State Survey and Geomatics Division at Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. He also monitored the survey group relative to profitability activities of seven offices in the region. His responsibility included company-wide coordination for all Aerial mapping projects and project manager for major survey and mapping projects within the tri-state area.
Over the course of his career, Ray has worked for numerous significant public and private clients throughout the region. These include: The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; The NYC Department of Design and Construction; The NYC Department of Parks and Recreation; The NYC Economic Development Corporation; The New York State Department of Transportation; The New Jersey Department of Transportation; Connecticut Department of Transportation; The Metropolitan Transportation Authority; Hudson River Park Trust and others.
Ray has worked on photogrammetric and land surveying services for many notable projects including complete surveys of the former and new Yankee Stadium, the World Trade Center Site, LaGuardia Airport, John F. Kennedy Airport, Lincoln Tunnel Helix, Hudson River Park Trust Development from Battery Park City to 59th Street; Route 9A in Manhattan, Brooklyn Navy Yard, Barkley Center, Battery Park City, Bayonne Bridge, Whitehall Ferry Terminal, and many major infrastructure improvement projects.
As Senior Vice President of SSE, Ray operates with integrity. He plays an active role in the development and completion of projects, with multiple teams. Ray plans and monitors work schedules while aligning engineering and surveying activities with company goals and objectives. He provides expert guidance and support maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Mr. Shakir is a professional Engineer registered in the State of New York and New Jersey with more than thirty years of experience. His 20-year tenure with the New York City Department of Transportation Bureau of Bridges and 5-years with New York City Department of Environmental Protection bring unparalleled expertise to our firm. During his time with NYCDOT Bureau of Bridges, as project and resident engineer, he oversaw jobs which exceeded $45 million. Mr. Shakir's responsibilities included managing daily tasks on project sites overseeing progress as per plans, specifications, and schedules. He coordinated with multiple outside agencies to mitigate project coordination.
Mr. Shakir was responsible for all aspects of MPT, Safety and community issues. At SSE, Mr. Shakir is heavily involved in QA/QC of the engineering development teams. He is responsible for ensuring that design requirements are met, overseeing the consistency of our deliverables.
Mr. Miller has more than 30 years of experience in field survey analysis for the preparation of right-of-way mapping for roadway reconstruction and infrastructure improvement projects.
His responsibilities include interpretation of field evidence and extensive electronic data analysis. He is proficient in the use of many CADD drafting tools including MicroStation, Terramodel, and Procogo. Andre leads the surveying department at SSE.
His extensive expertise is invaluable as he mentors the field crew staff. His responsibilities include the overview of daily operations, monitoring performance, and training.
Mr. Rashid is a licensed Professional Engineer with New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. In a career extending close to four decades, Hassan acquired extensive experience in the rehabilitation and replacement of infrastructure—bridges, buildings, railroads, highways, and related facilities—throughout the tri-state area. He has been responsible for all phases of project development, from senior management positions to analysis, design, and inspection for multidisciplinary engineering projects.
Hasan joined SSE with experience leading bridge and roadway engineering projects for clients such as the New York City Department of Transportation, New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the New York State Department of Transportation, New York City Transit, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. As lead and principal civil engineer at SSE, Hasan's role at the firm involves overseeing projects, communicating with clients and supervising the work of the engineering staff.
